Today is a day where there will be no pictures, not because we didn’t take them, but because the camera turned up missing. Camera may have been left somewhere (not likely), lifted out of Nikki’s pocket on the street (possibly) or maybe Nikki is hiding it as then there is no proof of her running around in Wellington City on her own buying and drinking lots of beers (nah!).
Today we went on a Lord of the Rings tour as this is the main area where they did a lot of filming for the movies. We went to the special effects studio called WETA where they make armour and prosthetics and do digital enhancements. It was a really cool place and was definitely a highlight of the day. Nikki met Gollum and almost swiped his fish. Almost. (no proof tho!)
The rest of the tour consisted of going to a few different locations that scenes of the movie were filmed at it was pretty cool but not nearly as fun as we had hoped. Lots of driving in (yet another) closed vehicle… After that we ran around the city. Ida found a cool museum, Nikki found Lush and went on an extensive beer run and almost missed the ship. (more on that later…)
