On Track Adventures, Napier - Tuesday, December 14th

We had 6 hours today in Napier. Napier is well known for farming and vineyards.

We found an excursion that seemed right up our alley today. It would get us out of town and into all that fresh air and marvelous countryside we had been seeing for days from yet another mode of sealed transportation! ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) 4 wheel bikes lost for the day among 2000 acres of diverse farmland and fresh air seemed like it would be a good adventure - and it did not disappoint. This was Ida’s first time on an ATV and she handled it like an old pro (hey, who you calling an old pro??!!) even when her thumb was sore. Good thumb muscles are a must for ATV drivers. There are so many good pictures of the landscapes that it was hard to be selective, so there follows a whole mess o’ photos.

Once again (big surprise!) we got caught in a torrential downpour and had to take shelter in a cattle shed. The proprietor went to get us all rain gear while we had tea and biscuits (oh joy) and then we continued our ride in the rain.
