Speight’s Brewery - Dunedin, Friday, December 17th

Off to Speight’s brewery which is a very old working brewery. They are one of very few breweries in the world which will still brew some beer using an open brew system.

Nikki was introduced to vegemite on this trip by some Aussie’s. It is made from the leftover yeast and malt from brewing beer, which explains why she liked it a lot. After the tour we were allowed to sample a few of their beers.

Note: Nikki insists on calling this brewery Schpeights, and schpitting on me when she talks about it. I don’t know why; there must be a random Jewish gene in there somewhere. Scheesch!
