There was a school outing on the train, so they added 5 extra carriages and a diesel engine to help Billy puff up the hills. They were like a flock of little blue birds in their uniforms and caps, all chattering around your knees. Ida said “adorable”. Nikki said “birth control”!!
Surprisingly, there was more schmutz from the diesel than the locomotive, and we’re still picking particulate out of our eyebrows! No complaints though, we’re learning to love the schmutzy, windswept look. OK really, Nikki has always been fine with that. Ida has been known to be an occasional priss about it. And by the way, the steam engine really does say “I think I can, I think I can” when it’s pulling up the hills. Charming!
